Jason Marshall is an education designer with 18 years of experience in K-16 working in public, alternative, and adult education settings. He is the Co-Founder of Jackson & Marshall Consulting Group LLC, an anti-oppression and educational equity consulting firm as well as the Social & Emotional Health Content Manager at Alliance for a Healthier Generation. As YouthBuild USA’s former National Director of Education from 2015 to 2018, Jason was responsible for providing a strategic plan for improving educational outcomes for YouthBuild’s 150+ domestic programs. He planned, led, and coordinated technical assistance and professional development initiatives that informed educational practice for YouthBuild’s national network of affiliates. Jason has expertise in content and curriculum development, workshop facilitation, and designing accessible learning spaces for young people from marginalized communities.

In addition to his deep knowledge of learning differences, Jason has been actively engaged in diversity, equity and inclusion efforts throughout his career. Some of his most recent initiatives include collaborating with CAST on a multi-year National Science Foundation funded project to support STEM career exploration, engagement, and skill development for young people and staff. He is a highly sought after speaker and facilitator, and was recently a keynote speaker at the 4th annual UDL Symposium at Harvard Law School. Jason’s current work includes his roles as Social Emotional Content Manager for the Alliance for a Healthier Generation in addition to providing education consulting services to the Oak Foundation, CAST and Rethink New Orleans. Jason holds a Master’s degree in Student Development in Higher Education from Central Connecticut State University and a Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Development from the University of Minnesota.
